Hi, I'm Joy.
LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER
If you're considering therapy for the first time or coming back after some time away, I know reaching out can feel like a big step. My goal is to make that first step feel a little easier.
Therapy should feel like a conversation, not an interrogation.
You don't need the “right” words, a perfectly organized story, or even a clear idea of what you want to work on before you begin. You can show up exactly as you are, and we'll figure out where to start together.
My role isn't to tell you how to live your life. It's to help you understand yourself better, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and find practical ways to create change that actually works in your life.
I tend to be an active therapist. I’ll listen, ask questions, offer another perspective when it might be helpful, and help you connect what we talk about in session to what’s happening in your everyday life.

My Style
Clients often tell me they appreciate that our sessions feel genuine, relaxed, and conversational while still providing meaningful support and practical direction. I value authenticity, curiosity, and creating a space where you can feel safe enough to explore difficult emotions while also celebrating the progress you make along the way.
When we work together, you can expect:
A judgment-free space
You don't have to edit yourself or worry about saying the “wrong” thing. Therapy is a place where you can be honest about what you're thinking and feeling, even when it's complicated.
Practical tools
We'll go beyond understanding why something is happening and talk about what you can actually do differently. I want what we work on together to be useful in your everyday life.
A collaborative relationship
You're the expert on your life. I'll bring my clinical training, curiosity, and perspective, and together we'll figure out an approach that makes sense for you.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of work, I'm usually with my family, probably driving one of my kids to a sporting event, planning our next trip, or volunteering to dog sit whenever someone gives me the chance.
I love traveling, organizing, and planning (hello, reformed PTO mom!), and spending time with the people I love. I'm also someone who naturally finds myself asking, “Okay, but does this actually make sense? Is there a better way to do it?”
That curiosity is a big part of who I am, both in and outside of the therapy room. I value connection, humor, and practicality. I don't think life has to be perfect to be good, and I'm always looking for ways to make things feel a little more manageable.
Education & Experience
I earned my Master of Social Work from Widener University in 2013 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2019. Before moving into private practice, my career gave me the opportunity to work with individuals and families in a variety of settings.
I began my career working with children and families, and later worked with adolescents involved in the juvenile justice system, as well as foster and adoptive parents. My experience also includes outpatient therapy, hospital behavioral health, and crisis intervention.
Over the years, I've worked with people navigating anxiety, relationship and family stress, parenting challenges, major life transitions, and times when life simply feels like too much.
Today, I provide online individual therapy to adults throughout Pennsylvania, bringing that range of experience into a practical, collaborative approach that's tailored to the person in front of me.
